How to install Hypit: prepare your agent and video project

Check version and migration impact first

The latest official release checked for this page on September 21, 2026 is 0.2.10. Version 0.2.0 changed Script markers and made local resources explicit. Updating the CLI does not update the Skill or rewrite projects.

Know which part you are setting up

The skill guides the agent; executable tools perform production work; your project holds the creative material. A successful skill installation does not establish that every service is ready. This is documentation-based guidance, not a test of your machine.

Prepare a focused project folder

Keep source material separate from outputs. Give files descriptive names and record approved product claims. Do not include credentials or unrelated private files.

Install the skill

Use the official installer command and select the agent you actually work with. Read its prompts and retain any error message without exposing credentials.

Ask for an environment check

Refresh the agent session as needed and ask it to identify the existing tools and missing dependencies before making changes.

Check whether this project can use Hypit. List installed tools, missing dependencies and proposed setup steps. Do not call paid models or change other projects yet.

The current quickstart provides this version-check entry. If an older release does not support it, follow the documented legacy check instead of deleting your project.

Confirm readiness

Record what actually works. Installation, generation and export are separate acceptance steps.

• The agent recognises the skill.
• Input files are readable and belong to this project.
• The intended service and account are clear.
• Missing tools and estimated costs are explained.
• After production, independently verify playback, captions and audio.

Separate production setup from source development

Creators can let the Agent prepare the executable without cloning the whole repository. Workspace commands in developer documentation are not mandatory for every creator. Skill and executable updates are separate; preserve your project and material.

Prepare credentials and local resources explicitly

Version 0.2.x uses Keychain on macOS, Credential Locker on Windows and an owner-private file option on Linux; missing backends do not silently switch. Prepare WhisperX languages, browser and local programs for the Profile.
